I am a self-taught artist with a child-like spirit – one that makes you feel like anything is possible. I was born in Buffalo, NY and currently reside in Raleigh, NC, where I work as a corporate writer and a freelance artist. Art has always been a strong influence in my life. As a child, I was always dreaming up characters, poems, and stories or creating something interesting. Today, I’m still a girl with her head in the clouds.
I like to create art that makes people smile. Whimsical, fun, or just plain quirky, my art emits a playful attitude and often incorporates the use of clever themes, humor, personal reflections, typography, and characters with BIG personalities.
I find sources of inspiration everywhere! I’ve always been enamored with animals, children’s books and illustrations, movies, music, paper ephemera, and people-watching. I love the vintage Hollywood era and its old movie classics, glamorous fashion, and sparkly nostalgia!
Influences and heroes include: Agatha Ruiz De La Prada, Andy Warhol, Audrey Hepburn, Darla Teagarden, Kurt Halsey, Shag, Tim Walker, and Zooey Deschanel to name just a few…!
In addition to painting, my other creative outlets include designing stationery, illustration, decorating, and planning theme parties.
